Working it Wednesday Link Up: Working it this New Year: Fitness Routine… Making a Plan and Keeping to IT!
This weeks post Im Linkin' Up with other bloggers to share "How We Are Workin' It In Life." This week is New Year's goals......the FIRST week into a New Year’s Resolutions didn’t/doesn’t seem that difficult, but WEEK TWO is when things start to lose their SHINE….Were not at “Oh, I’ll just take this day off” yet but the newness definitely starts wearing off…And WORKING OUT is a top goal for a lot of us in 2017...... With Workouts, some people love them …. Some people don’t… personally, working out is good for my stress level, but Id rather be drinking coffee and reading a book…. I don’t love the gym, but I must workout…. So in order to get my needed workout…. I make sure to do it in the AM….if I didn’t, they wouldn’t get done or I wouldn’t be able to maintain the routine…..
My WORKOUT Routine:
I wake up each morning and do cardio….this could be treadmill, cycling, weight training or a video…. Wakes me up and burns some calories…. I started with 20 minutes and over the last year, I've progressively added time as my fitness level increased…currently I am at 60 mins and stopping.... that's enough for me........but sweating doesn’t have to be high impact… this is why I love cycling- it keeps those calories burning. I follow a HIIT routine when on treadmill or bike… Works really well and makes the workout super effective.…
If I’m cycling or on the treadmill, Netflix or TV shows are a MUST!!!! I get to binge watch and workout at the same time….. What are your favorite Netflix shows- getting ready to start Season 1 of Gilmore Girls…. YAYYYYYY!!!!! Please SHARE your favorite shows!!!!! Need ideas!!!!!!
Something new I started adding in is weight training….I read an article that described how important it is to build strength as well as cardio…. So arms, abs, legs, and plank it is…I do this after my cardio...... I follow this format…… Pinterest find!!!!
Working out at home is great and something I must do, but working out with others/ with an instructor really helps me push myself and keeps me accountable…..Two to three nights a week I add in Kickboxing, Piyo, Yoga, Cycling or something fun that I hear about… this would be a little bonus to my workout routine…. This is just a way to spice things up and keep me working different muscle group… what I love most about working out is the friendships with others… I love chatting about what worked for whom, what workouts they love and what they do to be successful….They help me stay accountable and also feel good about my successes….
Either on your own or with an instructor, the key to keeping the workout routine going is to make sure to plan in time… This is why AM works so well for me. I don’t have to worry about kiddos, dinners, things that might come up…. I already have it checked off my list before the sun comes up… Sure I love those extra minutes of sleep- hitting that SNOOZE button for a little extra ZZZZZ, but in order to get my workout done… I have to do it in the AM… any other WORKOUT is just a bonus, I cant count on it- I never know what the day will bring….

Tone it UP- love these girls…. I first fell in love with them when they had a show on Bravo… don’t judge… Im a Bravo junky….. BUT SERIOUSLY…. Their workouts are amazing… Mixed together or tagged onto my cardio… I can find any kind of workout!!!!
Throwing it back here…. WAY BACK…. Cindy Crawford style… This is an oldie but a goodie… This beauty has been with me for literally for years….VHS- to be exact..... I know the arms and leg routine by heart …. .. It’s repetitive but works the whole body… love that it is low impact…. I just had to throw this one in!!!!!
Yoga by Adriene…. This is a great workout for the Yogies out there….. I truly didn’t consider myself a Yogi…. But truthfully I really didn’t give Yoga a fair chance…. That was until I did Vinyasa Hot Yoga….there is something about how Vinyasa flows that makes everything seemed balanced. Not to mention the workout is amazing…. My muscles are so sore after….. Adriene has tons of free videos from beginners to advanced… definitely worth a try :0) All from the safety of your home :0)
AND WHY, might you ask, THIS IS WHY I work out in the AM… evenings are meant for these babies…. Reading, Playing, Laughing… family time is what I wake up looking forward to… it is what I miss the most when things get too crazy…. It is what I MUST keep my evening free for….
