1. Go with something in the same color zone. This doesnt mean that everything has to be red or green, but coordinate between warm or cool hues. For example, this year the boys went with a cool red and navy buffalo plaid, navy tweed ties and coorderory navy pants. Since cool colors/tones are NOT in my color wheel, and I couldnt pull off a true red if my life depended on it..... I went with a neutral... BLACK... For those who know my style well... Black is my everything... and this holiday was no different... but I added a little twist..... Lace, which brings me to my next suggestion.
5. Picking the right photographer... This goes with the last one really well. My photographer is my best friend. She knows me like a sister and knows what I love. With that being said, she knows Im a slightly controlling- most photographers would probably dislike my micromanaging, but again... picking the right photographer with the right creative approach is a must!!! Pictures are worth a thousand words, and I need to love the photographers work and the photographer as a person.... she is working with my babies after all!
This is how we get the perfect shot... See how they turned out.... I couldn't be happier...... I saved the Christmas card photo a secret- soon to come!!!!!
Here is our photographer's info in case you wanted to see more of her amazing work- Instagram @j.muskopf_photography
Sugar or Spice and Everything Nice.... Nice and Sweet that is..... The Holiday season is upon us, and I am thrilled....Christmas Music, List Making, Decorations, Rejoicing with Family and Friends....I cant wait.... For my family, desserts are essential for the holidays. Baking treats that my family or others will enjoy is something I love to do. I always have some sort of dessert on hand for a sweet treat........a little bit of sweetness that Carter, Colby or anyone could enjoy.... but, as is the story of our life, we have a little bit extra...... we our Gluten Free....Colby can not have gluten, and since he cant, we cant......
For me baking has to be simple and easy. Im busy and my life is crazy full, but I still want my babies to enjoy homemade food..... To make this happen, simplicity is key!!! Here are my family's top favorite desserts. These can be enjoyed all year long and are quick and easy. The best part.... NO ONE will know they are GLUTEN FREE!!!!! Try these and let me know how you enjoyed!!! XOXO
Cool, misty, fall nights are made for staying inside and relaxing........ Years ago our weekend nights usually included friends, bonfires and lots of beverages... Now we prefer cuddles and coffee....well, I love coffee but Travis prefers Dt Dr. Pepper...... We have a busy weekend ahead so this Friday night was made for relaxing!!! What do you enjoying doing on weekend nights? Here was our Friday fun and a Halloween recap!!
Reading..... Say WHAT...... and on a Friday...... Carter loves to read.... It's true.... he takes after his momma on this one....Reading is my beloved past-time. A way to escape into a different world. Carter isnt quite to chapter books yet or even really to books with a extended plot, but we are getting there. One of Carter's favorite thing to do is read his book outloud.
IPAD games..... the IPAD is a must in our home..... from games to cartoons, it is carted along everywhere we go. Friday night is no different. Colby gets to snuggle up on the coach and watch his beloved Backyardigans. I have to say, as far as cartoons go, Backyardigans have my vote. They dance on beat with catchy music from all different time-periods and genres.... Currently Breakout is on repeat.
Trick or Treat!!!! Halloween was a success! As seen above, we were characters from Top Gun. This was all Carter's idea. He established a love for Top Gun over the summer so we embraced it!!! Of course, I could NOT let my baby be Goose! He DIES in the movie!!! Next best thing!!! The Fighter plane! Hope your Halloween provided precious family time and memories- along with copious amounts of candy!!! Tis the start of the holiday season!!!! Kisses to all!!!!
